Our Company

XeroFlor systems have been the leading system chosen in green roof projects since 1972.

XeroFlor North America systems are a sustainable solution to many environmental impacts that a conventional roof system contributes to. Our green roof systems have been approved with both FLL Compliance and Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certification for safety to humans, environment & design for all life cycles. Since its creation, with ongoing R&D on installations in the tens of thousands of projects, we have been able to refine our system components to meet different environmental needs across the globe.

In 2004, XeroFlor set the Guinness world’s record for largest green roof on the Ford Motor Company Rouge factory Dearborn, Michigan USA. The 10.4 acre project was the dawn of the green roof industry in North America.

Over the past 40 years the German based technology has gained substantial presence in global markets from Europe, to North America in 2002, and Asia-Pacific in 2010.

With German engineering, more than 10 worldwide patents, more than 40 years of R&D, and tens of thousands of flourishing installations that cover hundreds of millions of square feet in North America and all around the world, XeroFlor North America makes it simple. The smartest green roof system in the world.

Simply stated, XeroFlor North America offers significant advantages...

The xeroflor advantage

Superior technical design

In contrast to other pre-vegetated systems, with XeroFlor there is a flexible carrier option that stays intact. The result? A strong, durable mat with a carrier layer. If the roof needs to be accessed, XeroFlor mats can be rolled up and then rolled back into place. This saves time and money.

unmatched sustainability

Only XeroFlor green roof mats are Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Certified for sustainability by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.

Manufactured in North America

Other green roof systems use materials from overseas. For every XeroFlor installation, every component is 100% North American-made.

Sustainably Grown

XeroFlor North America grows pre-vegetated mats and modular systems on farms across North America. Wherever XeroFlor is installed, the plants are adaptable to the regional climate for a healthy, sustainable green roof. Plus, XeroFlor North America supports local economies and decreases the system's carbon footprint.

Full-Grown Plants

XeroFlor plants are grown for 9-12 months. Before they go up on a roof, the mats have extensive vegetative coverage with plants that are mature and full grown. XeroFlor establishes instant green roofs that are immediately functional, beautiful and successful for the long term with little maintenance.

Greater Plant Diversity

XeroFlor offers more plant variety than other pre-vegetated mat systems. Increased plant variety promotes biodiversity, supports a dynamic plant community on the rooftop, and results in a green roof that more stably adapts to the environmental conditions of each individual installation.

Proven Performance

XeroFlor's superiority has been demonstrated in tens of thousands of installations worldwide. In Europe, where the green roof industry is long established, XeroFlor is the system of choice. Throughout North America, for more than 15 years, XeroFlor has been selected for the largest and most challenging projects, including the massive green roofs on Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant and the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
